Pulling is a nautical term for rowing. As the sea and water are very much associated with the Navy it would only be right to teach the skills need to be aboard a floating vessel.

When the weather is warmer and the evenings longer we take to the local river Thames. We currently have three Pulling or rowing boats and one power boat. The power boat is primarily for safety but it does not preclude the cadets from learning to safely use it.

All cadets and staff are required to wear flotation aids (life jackets). The size of the jacket is dependant on the cadet’s ability to prove they are adept in water. All Cadets start with full size floatation aids but once they have completed a water proficiency test (swimming test) they may use a much less bulky jacket.

Basic training and boat awareness is always taught to new Cadets.Demonstration of Life Vest Inital talk about life vests
