Base Drum
You need to be fairly stout to hold this ‘little fella’. This provides the beat.
Snare Drum
This Drum had two very distinct sounds. Push the leaver on the side and the snare wires fall away from the skin or head and it turns into an ordinary drum. This is certainly an instrument which demands practice. Its not only the striking of the drum which is required you need to return the drum sticks to their presented place just under the nose.
Tenor Drum
The drum produces a much deeper tone. The sticks are fitted with a mop head of a softer material to that used on the Base drum.
Bugle
This is a second instrument. Normally you learn and play the drum and have this on a rope over the shoulder
Bell Lyre
This is very much like a vertical Glockenspiel. You only have one striking stick so its monophonic
Crash Cymbals
Not a lot can be said. Great fun to bash together!
Flatbed Bell
Newest instrument in the band. This is like a horizontal Bell Lyre but has two sets of notes. It his held horizontal by a shoulder harness and alleviates both hands for the sticks. Next
